Arielle DOMBASLE - « L’amour est toujours un supplice »

Le dernier album "Glamour à Mort" d'Arielle Dombasle, album mystique et pop extra, réalisé avec la complicité du délirant Philippe Katerine, contient une chanson hommage à Saint Sébastien!

Je ne suis pas fan d Arielle mais il faut reconnaître qu'à 56 ans elle a la vraiment la pêche et ose délires et provocations... Cette chanson ne fait pas exception, c'est un hommage à double tranchant comme le montrent les paroles:

Laissé pour mort
Percé au corps
Regarde le bien St Sébastien
Il avait quelque chose de plus qu'un saint homme, médium ...
Quand il se tient en arrière on dirait
On dirait qu'il se tient comme une putain
Regarde le comme il nous regarde
Aimé trop fort

C'est le plus beau jour de sa vie de saint homme, au summum ...

A ce sujet, elle a commenté aux journalistes de l'Humanité:
"Il y a cette espèce de douleur en amour de ne jamais être satisfait, d’éternel recommencement, de flèches qui vous percent et de masochisme consenti. On peut dire que l’amour est toujours un supplice. Dans le scintillement de la religion catholique, on retrouve, comme cela, l’idée de sacrifice ultime, de transgression. Tout cela est extrêmement indicible."

On se rappelle que Philippe Katerine avait lui aussi joué les StSeb sur la pochette de son fameux single Louxor j'adore.

The last album "Glamour à Mort" (= Deadly Glamorous) of Arielle Dombasle, mystical and pop album, realized with delirious Philippe Katerine, contains a song tribute to Saint Sebastian!
I am not a fan of Arielle but we have to admit that at 56 years of age she really is energic and dares frenzies and provocations... This song is no exception, it is a tribute double-edged as shown by the words:

Left for dead
Pierced body
Look at him, St Sebastian
He had something more than a holy man, a medium...
When he is held behind we would say
He looks like standing as a whore
Look how he's looking at us
Loved too much
Left for dead...
It is the most beautiful day of his life of holy man, in the highlight...

On this subject, she commented to the journalists of l'Humanité:
"There is a sort of pain in love: never being satisfied, constantly repeating itself, arrows piercing you and masochism being consented. We can say that the love is always a torture. In the vast sparkling of the Catholicism, we find, as well, the idea of ultimate sacrifice, transgression. All this is extremely inexpressible. "

Remember that Philippe Katerine has to be a fan of StSeb as well as shown in the way he portraited himself on the cover of his song Louxor, J'adoooore.

Mantegna: le St Seb du Louvre

Parmi les 3 représentations de Saint Sébastien par le maître italien Andrea Mantegna, celui exposé au Louvre a été peint vers 1480. De Vérone, il passe plus tard en Auvergne avant d'aboutir à Paris.
En plus du symbolisme, l’image est caractérisée par la précision de la représentation des ruines antiques et par les détails réalistes tels que ce figuier à côté de la colonne et l’anatomie du saint.


Among the 3 paintings of St Sebastian by the Italian Early Renaissance master Andrea Mantegna, the one exposed in Le Louvre was painted circa 1480. From Verona, it passed by Auvergne before ending here in Paris.
Apart from the symbolism, the picture is characterized by Mantegna's accuracy in the depictions of ancient ruins, as well as the detail in realistic particulars such as the fig tree next to the column and the description of Sebastian's body.
